How to read this: This is an annualised estimate for the 2026/27 UK tax year. Monthly values are yearly totals divided by 12, not a payslip simulation. Actual PAYE / NI depend on pay periods, payroll rounding, tax code adjustments and other income.
Not modelled: student/postgraduate loans, Scottish tax on savings/dividends, child benefit charge, tax-code restrictions unrelated to the standard allowance, pension relief at source, expense reimbursements, payroll quirks, or corporation/dividend tax for a limited company. Holiday entitlement and pension basis depend on your contract. Pension annual-allowance tax charges are not calculated.
Sources & assumptions
Income Tax bands and standard Personal Allowance, £1 allowance taper per £2 of adjusted net income over £100,000; category A employee NI at 8% / 2%, employer NI at 15% above £5,000; 2026/27 pension qualifying earnings of £6,240–£50,270. Public holidays are counted in the 6 April 2026–5 April 2027 period and are assumed not worked.
Benefits in kind are taxed on their annual cash equivalent, without creating take-home cash. The sample private medical insurance benefit is £990.36 a year (2026 single-adult market average, not a universal employer BIK valuation).
